Johnny Dundee became the first universally recognized junior lightweight champion on 18th November 1921 when his opponent George 'KO' Chaney, was disqualified in the fifth round at Madison Square Garden.
Dundee made the third defence of the title against Filipino Elino Flores at Madison Square Garden. Although Flores found himself on the canvas on four occasions he found his way through to hear the final bell after 15 hard rounds.
Dundee was recognised as the both Featherweight and Junior Lightweight world champion.
