Terms and conditions

The rules for using Boxing Only. They are written to be read: the main points are that the league is free, picks are opinions not betting advice, and you must be 18 to play.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use boxingonly.net (“the site”) and any service on it. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. “We” means the people who run Boxing Only; you can reach us through the contact form.

Our privacy policy explains how we use personal data and forms part of how we work with you.

2. Who can use what

  • Reading the site is open to everyone.
  • Making picks, scoring fights and joining the league needs an account, and you must be 18 or over. You confirm this by ticking a box when you choose your league name, and we keep a record of when you did.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. Tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One account per person.
  • You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by cheating, abusing other players or giving false details.

4. The Beat the House league

  • The league is free and for fun. There are no prizes, no entry fees and no money changes hands.
  • Points are awarded as set out on the league page. We may change the rules for future fights and will say so on that page.
  • Picks open six days before a fight and lock when the day of the fight begins (midnight UTC). You can change a pick until then. A pick you did not make scores zero.
  • Results come from the official outcome of each fight. If a result is changed or corrected after the event, we may correct scores to match.
  • We may remove players, picks or scores that result from cheating, multiple accounts or abuse of the service. Our decision on the league table is final.

If we ever offer paid features, the price and what you get will be shown clearly before you pay.

5. Private leagues

  • You can start a private league and invite friends with a link or code. Free accounts can run one league of up to 10 players, and be in up to 20.
  • A private league uses the same points as the main league. Its table shows each member's league name and points, and the House.
  • Anyone with the invite link or code can join until the league is full, so share it only with people you want in. The owner can remove players, make a new invite code and delete the league.
  • If you run a league you are responsible for who you invite. League names follow the rules in “What you post” below, and we may rename or remove a league or its owner's account if they do not.
  • Deleting your account deletes any league you run, for everyone in it.

6. What you post

This covers league names, the names of private leagues and anything else you submit, such as comments if we add them.

  • You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a licence to display it on the site and to store it so the service works.
  • Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Do not post false information about fights, results or people, or pretend to be a boxer, promoter or anyone else.
  • We may remove content or names at our discretion, and we are not obliged to review everything.

7. Using the site properly

Please do not:

  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the site;
  • copy the site's content in bulk by automated means. Search engines are welcome, as set out in our robots.txt;
  • use the site to promote or run illegal gambling.

8. Content and ownership

The text, design and data we create belong to us or our contributors, and you may use them for personal, non-commercial purposes, with a link back to us if you share them. Please ask before using them commercially.

Boxers' names, logos, belts and images belong to their owners. If you own something shown on the site and want it changed or removed, contact us and we will act promptly.

9. Information, odds and gambling

We work hard to keep fight information, results, records and champions correct, but mistakes happen and details change. Check official sources for anything that matters. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.

The House picks and any odds we show are for information and entertainment. They are opinions, not betting tips or advice, and we are not responsible for any betting decision you make. If you choose to gamble, you must be of legal age where you live. If gambling is a problem for you, UK help is at BeGambleAware.org and GamCare on 0808 8020 133, and in the US call 1-800-GAMBLER.

11. Availability and liability

We provide the site “as is”. We cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or remove features.

We are not liable for loss that was not a foreseeable result of our breach, for loss of data or profit, or for interruptions outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

12. Changes and ending

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and if we make a significant change we will tell signed-in users. Using the site after a change means you accept it.

We may suspend or end access to the site or an account for breaking these terms or if the law requires it.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, although if you live elsewhere in the UK or the EU you keep any rights you have to use your local courts and consumer protections.
