Whitaker defended his WBC & IBF world lightweight titles against Pendleton at the Convention Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey in what was his first defence of the WBC belt and third for the IBF crown.
Whitaker fought a largely defensive fight due to Pendleton's vaunted right had power and won by unanimous decision.
