Jermell Charlo vs Brian Carlos Castano ends in a draw

Jermell Charlo and Brian Carlos Castano produced an action-packed thriller in the main event of Premier Boxing's card at The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas but failed to find an undisputed154lb champion after their unification fight was scored a split decision draw.

Boxing fans will argue the merits for each of the boxers but either could have won and maybe a draw was the best result. We will get to see a second instalment and that is something to look forward to.

WBO champion Castano might be the career opponent that Charlo needs to prove his place in the super-welterweight division's history. It would be a shock if these two are ever involved in anything less than the titanic struggle they produced this time around.

Scores: Tim Cheatham 114-114 | Nelson Vazquez 117-111 | Steve Weisfeld 113-114.
