Amilcar Vidal gets past Immanuwel Aleem with majority decision

Amilcar Vidal took his record to 13-0, 11 Ko's but had to travel the10 round distance for the second time in his career when he won a majority decision over tough Immanuwel Aleem on Showtime's tripleheader from The AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Aleem's showing removed any doubts about Vidal's abilities at this level. Although Aleem who hails from Richmond, Virginia has lost 3 of his last 5, he is a legitimate contender. His May 2019 ten round majority decision draw with Matt Koroabov was seen by some as unlucky, to say the least. Only Hugo Centeno Jr has managed to stop Aleem.

Vidal landed the cleaner shots in the first 7 rounds and had a decent lead but Aleem closed the gap in the last 3 rounds.

The 25-year-old Vidal originally from Montevideo, Uruguay but now living and fighting out of Coachella, California, throws tidy, accurate punches and is good to watch. He seemed to slow down in the second half of the fight, but Aleem does that to opponents.

Scores: Ruben Carrion 97-93 | Glen Rick Crocker 97-93 | Anthony De Los Santos 95-95.
