Donnie Nietes outscores Pablo Carrillo over ten rounds

Former four-division titlist Donnie Nietes scored a unanimous 10 round points win over Colombian Pablo Carrillo on the undercard of the Jamel Herring vs Carl Frampton WBO world super-featherweight showdown at Caesars Palace Dubai.

It was the 38-year-old Nietes first fight in 28 months and he quite expectedly looked rusty as the early rounds progressed, gradually letting the shots go with more fluidity and using his usual slick defence to avoid Carrillo's attacks.

Overall it was a good 10 rounds for the former champion and he can now look to get into a world title challenge as soon as possible.

Scores: 99-91 | 98-92 | 96-95.
