Tursynbay Kulakhmet knocks out Heber Rondon in first round

Kazakhstan's Tursynbay Kulakhmet scored an impressive win in his third professional outing when he knocked out Venezuela’s Heber Rondon in the first round at Caesars Palace Dubai on the Herring vs Frampton undercard.

Kulakhmet was making the first defence of the WBC International Super-welterweight Title he won last time out in England in a vacant title match against Macaulay McGowan.

Rondon, a 34-year-old from Los Teques, Venezuela came into the fight with a perfect 20-0 record with 13 wins by knockout, so on paper, it looked a fair test for Tursynbay's third pro bout, but the 27-year-old went on the attack in the 1st round, dropping Rondon twice and forcing referee Ali Oubaali to call the fight off at 1:40 of the round.
