On Saturday, April 14th, 2007, Manny Pacquiao defended his WBC International Super Featherweight title against Jorge Solis at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The event was promoted by Top Rank and distributed on pay-per-view. Pacquiao was looking to continue his dominance in the division with his fourth defense of the title.
In the early rounds of the fight, Pacquiao had a slow start as he tried to adjust to Solis' height and reach advantage. However, he eventually gained control of the pace of the fight and landed some flurries of punches later on. In the sixth round, Pacquiao suffered a cut over his left eye due to an accidental clash of heads.
Despite the cut, Pacquiao continued to press forward and dominate the fight. In the eighth round, Solis was knocked down twice by Pacquiao's powerful punches. The second knockdown proved to be too much for Solis, as he was unable to stand up before the count of ten, resulting in a knockout victory for Pacquiao at 1:16 of the round.
This victory not only marked Pacquiao's fourth defense of the WBC International Super Featherweight title, but it also solidified his status as one of the top fighters in the sport.
