On September 12, 2015, Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought Andre Berto in a 12-round welterweight title fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather was defending his WBC and WBA titles and the Ring Magazine championship, and the fight was promoted by Mayweather Promotions and televised on Showtime PPV.

Mayweather, who was 38 years old at the time and had a perfect record of 48-0, was the heavy favorite going into the fight. Berto, on the other hand, had lost three of his last six fights and was seen as an underdog. Nevertheless, he was determined to give Mayweather a tough fight and take his titles.

From the opening bell, Mayweather was in control of the fight, using his superior boxing skills and defense to evade Berto's punches and land his own. Berto tried to pressure Mayweather and throw punches in bunches, but he was largely ineffective against Mayweather's elusive style.

Mayweather was content to stay on the outside and pick his shots, landing jabs and straight right hands while avoiding Berto's wild swings. Berto had a few moments of success in the middle rounds, but Mayweather was always in command and never seemed in danger of losing the fight.

In the end, all three judges scored the fight in Mayweather's favor, with scores of 120-108, 118-110, and 117-111. Mayweather's victory was his 49th consecutive win and he announced his retirement from boxing shortly after the fight.
