David Avanesyan vs Shane Mosley

David Avanesyan outpointed Shane Mosley to retain his WBA Interim World Welterweight title on May 28, 2016, at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The fight was promoted by GoBox Promotions and was aired on CBS Sports. The referee for the bout was Wes Melton. Avanesyan came into the fight with a record of 21-1-1, while Mosley had a record of 49-9-1.

In the early rounds, Mosley controlled the pace of the action with his jab. However, Avanesyan began attacking Mosley's left jab with counter right hands, which proved to be effective. As the fight progressed, Avanesyan continued to pile on the pressure and landed some effective body shots in the middle rounds, while Mosley remained on the back foot.

Despite his efforts, Mosley never made the proper adjustments to counter Avanesyan's attacks, and the younger fighter continued to dominate the fight. Avanesyan's superior speed and stamina were evident as the fight wore on, and he was able to outbox Mosley in the later rounds.

In the end, Avanesyan beat Mosley by unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the fight 117-110, 114-113, and 117-110 in favor of Avanesyan. The victory solidified Avanesyan's status as a rising star in the welterweight division and left Mosley with a record of 49-10-1.
