Why the House picks Serhii Bohachuk
If the Serhii Bohachuk who ran Virgil Ortiz Jr. so close, scoring two knockdowns in their August 2024 war, turns up against Butaev, this is an easy one to predict. However, whilst the Ukrainian followed that up with two decent wins, he then ran into his old nemesis, Brandon Adams, on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford and lost by unanimous decision. Butaev is a career welterweight who recently fought a couple of fights at light middleweight, whereas this bout is made at the 160-pound middleweight division, which I believe will favour Bohachuk. The only loss on Butaev's record was to the always-impressive Eimantas Stanionis, in a WBA world title fight. That loss came by split decision, so he comes with a stellar reputation, but I believe the weight discrepancy and Bohachuk’s more impressive resume at the higher weights will see him through to a unanimous decision.
