Charlie Sheehy vs Gabriel Flores Jr

This is a proper step up for Sheehy, but I fancy him to make Flores work harder than he wants. Eight stoppages in thirty fights tells you Flores usually needs to win rounds through skill. I’d respect his counters without giving him the space to dictate everything.

Flores has quick hands and can catch a man coming in, but his lack of consistent stopping power gives Sheehy more freedom to take ground. That doesn’t mean charging in with his chin up. I’d want Charlie feinting first, jabbing the chest and making Flores retreat before putting combinations together.

Sheehy’s jab to the body and quick exits were effective against Theran. My concern is that dipping in with the same rhythm could invite Flores’s uppercut. Vary the entry, and that body work can make the movement increasingly expensive.

I reckon Flores takes some early rounds, but Sheehy’s controlled pressure and stronger finish settle it. Charlie Sheehy by unanimous decision.
