Subriel Matias Takes Out Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela In Eighth

Subriel Matias reinforced his reputation as one of the most dangerous punchers in the super lightweight division with a brutal eighth-round stoppage of Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela. Fighting in front of a passionate crowd, Matias systematically broke down the formidable Mexican contender before delivering the decisive finish that cemented his status as the IBF mandatory challenger. The victory improved Matias' record to 20-1 (20 KOs), keeping his perfect knockout streak intact, while Valenzuela, who had shown grit throughout the fight, fell to 27-5-1 (16 KOs).

In the early rounds, Valenzuela attempted to keep Matias at bay with movement and counterpunching, but the Puerto Rican champion's relentless pressure and heavy-handed combinations quickly became a problem. Matias, as always, was undeterred by incoming fire, walking through Valenzuela's best shots and responding with punishing bodywork and crisp uppercuts. By the middle rounds, the Mexican challenger began showing signs of wear, his punch output declining as Matias' sustained attack drained his energy.

Matias turned up the intensity as the fight progressed, knowing that the end was near. In the eighth round, he landed a devastating left hook and a right hand that sent Valenzuela crashing to the canvas. Although the challenger attempted to rise, the referee had seen enough and waved the fight off, confirming another emphatic victory for Matias.

After the fight, Matias wasted no time calling out Richardson Hitchins, making it clear he wants a shot at reclaiming a world title. With his reputation as one of boxing's most feared pressure fighters growing, Matias remains a nightmare for anyone at 140 pounds. At the same time, Valenzuela must now regroup after suffering another tough loss at the hands of an elite finisher.
