In a chess match of measured aggression and technical prowess, O'Shaquie Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) reversed his July defeat to Robson Conceicao (19-3-1, 9 KOs), capturing a split decision at New York's Turning Stone Resort on Saturday. The judges turned in matching 115-113 scorecards, with two favouring Foster's work.

Unlike their controversial first meeting, Foster initiated the action early, though Conceicao's bodywork and high guard nullified much of this opening strategy. The Brazilian seized control through round four behind a persistent jab, but Foster's mid-fight adjustments paid dividends as he improved his distance management and counter-punching.

The fight's momentum shifted noticeably in round seven as Foster began pressing forward, though Conceicao's straight punches kept the American honest. Each frame remained competitive, exemplified in round eight when Conceicao's late-round resurgence matched Foster's early dominance. Foster landed the bout's most significant blow in round ten – a compact right hand that momentarily buckled Conceicao. However, fatigue became the primary narrative of the final rounds, with Conceicao reduced to arm punches while trying to smother Foster's work inside.

The champion's earlier body investment and more precise shot selection ultimately proved decisive in reclaiming his WBC junior lightweight title. The victory positions Foster back atop the 130-pound division, validating those who disputed July's decision while showcasing both fighters' tactical evolution in this superior sequel.
