Lawrence Okolie wins WBO Title with 6th round Krzysztof Glowacki

Hackney's Laurence Okolie won the vacant WBO cruiserweight title with a crushing victory over former titlist Krzysztof Glowacki who never found a way inside Okolie's 6ft 5 Inch reach.

Okolie is looking more like the finished article now that he is deep into his working relationship with Shane McGuigan. Gone is the awkward grappling and mauling that made him unpopular with some fans, instead, he controls distance with a varied jab and a well-timed back-hand.

Okolie was able to take his time against the most experienced foe he has faced thus far in his career, and Glowacki never looked like finding an answer to the 28-year-old Londoner's superior boxing.

A big right hand in the sixth round felled the visiting Pole and although he got to his feet in time, he turned his back on referee Marcus McDonnell who waved the fight off, sparking celebrations from Team Okolie.
