Anthony Fowler blasts out Jorge Fortea in two rounds

Liverpool's Anthony Fowler needs a big fight with a big prize at stake and he needs it soon because he might be at the peak of his powers right now. He certainly looked like a fighter that should be moving onto the world stage against Spain's Jorge Fortea in their WBA International super-welterweight Title clash at the SSE Arena in Wembley, London on the undercard of Lawrence Okolie's vacant WBO World Cruiserweight clash wit former titlist Krzystof Glowacki.

The 30-year-old Fowler made it look easy against a good opponent in Fortea, walking his challenger down and scoring two knockdowns, the second of which prompted referee Steve Gray to count the Spaniard out at 3:08 of the round even though the official three minutes was up.

Fowler moves to 14-1-0, the loss coming against Scott Fitgerald in a controversial clash for this very title in March 2019.
