Born on July 31, 1986, in Walcz, Poland, Glowacki rose from modest beginnings and transformed himself into a durable southpaw technician, eventually earning global acclaim among cruiserweights. His journey from local amateur success to the world championship stage is marked by both explosive victories and hard-fought battles against the division's elite.

Glowacki's ascent began in Poland's deep amateur ranks, where he developed a reputation for aggression, stamina, and a left hand that quickly became his calling card. While he never competed at the Olympics, Glowacki did make his mark domestically and in several regional tournaments, using these early battles as stepping stones for an early entry into the professional sphere. On October 3, 2008, Glowacki made his pro debut in Lomza, Poland, against Mariusz Radziszewski. Showcasing the blend of poise and power that would become his signature, he won by unanimous decision across four rounds, impressing local audiences with a mature, measured performance rarely seen in a debutant.

The following years saw Glowacki hone his craft on the robust Polish small hall circuit, steadily building an undefeated record. Glowacki was floored hard in the sixth round—his first knockdown as a professional—but rallied spectacularly, not only surviving the onslaught but ultimately stopping Huck in the eleventh round after a pair of knockdowns with his left hand. The win awarded Glowacki the WBO world cruiserweight title and abruptly ended Huck's bid to break the division's consecutive title defence record. Defending his WBO title for the first time, Glowacki faced Steve Cunningham, a former world cruiserweight champion, in April 2016 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Over twelve rounds, Glowacki exemplified a balance between aggression and boxing acumen, dropping Cunningham four times en route to a wide unanimous decision. With this victory, he further cemented his reputation as a true world-class operator capable of handling both pressure and the ring craft of established champions.

Glowacki's title reign ended later that year against the highly-touted Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk—an eventual undisputed cruiserweight and future heavyweight champion. In June 2019, after Mairis Briedis was stripped and the vacant WBC cruiserweight title was on the line, Glowacki clashed with the Latvian in Riga. The referee missed the bell, leading to a stoppage win for Briedis under highly disputed circumstances. Glowacki's protestations were brushed aside with the official result standing. Glowacki's latter years as a cruiserweight contender saw him maintain a presence near the division's summit, setting up a bout for the vacant WBO world cruiserweight title against rising British star Lawrence Okolie in March 2021. Okolie, much taller and with a significant reach advantage, controlled the tempo from the outset, culminating the contest with a decisive knockout in the sixth round. In the last phase of his career, Glowacki faced British prospect Richard Riakporhe in January 2023.
