Former IBF World Super Feather champion Joseph Diaz won the WBC Interim Lightweight belt with a close and hard-fought unanimous decision win over Dominican southpaw Javier Fortuna at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.
On a great card delivered by Golden Boy Promotions and shown on DAZN and co-headlined by Gilberto Ramirez's 4th round stoppage of Sullivan Barrera, Diaz and Fortuna served up an exciting, evenly matched contest.
