David Adeleye stops Dave Preston with first round body shot

Dudley's Dave Preston found out the hard way that life in the professional heavyweight division is a long way removed from the white-collar boxing matches he had previously taken part in when he faced Londoner David Adeleye on the undercard of the Zack Parker v Vaughn Alexander bill at London's Copper Box Arena.

There may not have been a harder way to make your professional debut available to Preston so he should be commended for giving it a go. The left hook to the body that ended the fight at 1:20 of the 2nd round would have felled many a heavyweight with more experience than Preston.

Adeleye moves to 5-0-0 with this win but his handlers must know that he gained absolutely nothing in the way of learning from this exercise. That said, Adeleye looks like a decent prospect that with tougher matchmaking could develop into one to watch.
