When Mark Breland met WBA No 2 ranked welterweight contender Seung Soon Lee (31-2-0) of South Korea at Caesars Palace on the strip in Las Vegas for the vacant WBA world title, little did anyone know just how much of a mismatch the governing body had ordered.
Breland the former champion, dropped his co-challenger within the first minute. Lee hadn't recovered when he arose and when he started taking heavy shots from Breland once again, referee Richard Steele had no choice but to save the hapless Korean from a further beating.
The time of the stoppage was 0:54 of the 1st round.
