Age on fight night 27Why the House picks Yaser Al Ghena
This looks like a technical contest that could get cagey. Both lads like space to pick their punches, so whoever takes the initiative without getting reckless will have the edge. I favour Al Ghena, but he’ll have to earn it.
Al Ghena’s lateral movement and selective punching are his strongest assets. He can make an opponent reset, then score before the next attack develops. The danger is spending too long moving without throwing. Against Marksby, quiet spells could surrender rounds.
Marksby has a useful counter right and moves well himself. He’ll want Al Ghena reaching so he can catch him coming in. But against Senan Kelly, close pressure created openings, particularly when Marksby’s left hand sat low. I’d want Al Ghena varying the jab between chest and head, then stepping in behind it rather than chasing.
I’m picking Al Ghena by unanimous decision. His experience over the longer distance should help him manage the pace, provided he puts enough punches behind that footwork.
