O'Shaquie Foster vs Raymond Ford

As soon as I heard this one announced, I liked the fight straight away. I’m a big fan of both boxers, and I kind of feel as if Ray Ford deserves another world title. I probably wouldn’t feel quite like that if he’d lost decisively to Nick Ball when he defended his WBA world featherweight in the five-v-five, but I, for one, at the end of their 12 rounds didn’t really know which way the decision should have gone.

Now that he has got another world title chance, it couldn’t have come against a tougher proposition. Foster is quality. He’s got way more experience at this level, even than the former world featherweight champion. Names that jump off the Foster resume include: Rey Vargas, Eduardo Hernandez, Abraham Nova, Robson Conceicao, and Stephen Fulton. Match that!

Sorry to say, Ford is an outside bet here, but I do give him a chance. He is a battler. He will be there giving it everything he’s got until the final bell, so any mistakes that Foster makes will be found out. So for me it will be a closely contested fight, and the champion will win on points to retain his crown.
