Justis Huni vs Frazer Clarke

The last time I saw Justis Huni fight, he was ahead on points at Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town Football Club and also the town from which Fabio Wardley hails. Then it all fell apart in the tenth round due to one well-timed right hand from Wardley. Clark, on the other hand, has won once and drawn once in his last four fights and it is probably fair to say that he is not fulfilling the promise that his amateur career offered. In fairness, Clark can box beautifully at times and make the game not look easy, but as if he is a master of it. That was until he ran into one Fabio Wardley and last time out against Jeamie Tshikeva (L-UD). Whenever you’ve got two guys coming back from losses, it inevitably gets called a must-win fight, with the loser demoted to the realms of the ‘nowhere to go’ club. I believe Huni would come back from the loss; he’s only 26. I’m not sure that at 34, Frazer Clarke would, so I think this is all or nothing for the Englishman. The problem with that is Huni looked like one of the best boxers in the heavyweight division in years when he came over to fight Wardley. His balance, his speed, his footwork, his jab, everything worked; there was nothing that didn’t work smoothly that day until his chin got tested by someone who is a remarkable puncher (20 wins, 19 KO’s). Frazer has moved to Manchester to train with Joe Gallagher in the hope of reviving his career, but it all looks like last-chance saloon stuff from here. Even home soil isn’t going to help Frazer Clarke on this occasion, and I honestly believe that Justis Huni will come away with a wide points decision.
