Frazer Clarke returned triumphantly to the ring, stopping Ebenezer Tetteh in the first round at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. This bout marked Clarke's return after a six-month hiatus due to a fractured jaw that was sustained in a knockout loss to Fabio Wardley. Clarke, determined to reestablish himself in the heavyweight division, wasted no time asserting his dominance.
From the opening bell, Clarke took control of the centre of the ring, showcasing his superior reach and power. Tetteh attempted to respond with aggressive swings, but Clarke's precision and timing proved overwhelming. A well-placed right hand from Clarke sent Tetteh to the canvas early in the round. Although Tetteh managed to beat the count, Clarke continued his assault, leading the referee to stop the fight at 1:52 of the first round.
The stoppage sparked a controversial reaction from Tetteh, who angrily confronted the referee and grabbed him in protest. Security intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further. Despite Tetteh's objections, the referee's decision was widely regarded as appropriate, given Clarke's dominance and Tetteh's inability to defend himself effectively.
Clarke's victory improved his professional record to 9-1-1, with seven wins by knockout. Tetteh's record moved to 23-3. Reflecting on his performance, Clarke expressed relief and satisfaction, stating, "I have been crying out for that kind of performance since my debut. I have come through some dark times, so that feels amazing."
Looking ahead, Clarke expressed interest in facing the winner of the upcoming rematch between David Adeleye and Jeamie TKV, aiming to reenter the British title contention. His decisive victory over Tetteh serves as a statement of intent, signalling his readiness to challenge the top contenders in the heavyweight division.
