Ellie Scotney vs Mayelli Flores Rosquero

Ellie Scotney always surprises me when I watch her box; she does it beautifully, but I always think she’s in with a chance of stopping her opposition, and yet she obviously does not hit with any real weight behind her shots. In Rosquero she may not have too many things to worry about. The Mexican has three stoppage wins in 13 fights, with one loss and one draw, compared to Scotney’s clean slate of 11 and 0. Undoubtedly, the 33-year-old Mexican is coming to fight and to walk away as a unified world champion and undoubtedly will give it everything she’s got, but Scotney on home soil is a very tough proposition for any female super bantamweight in the world. I think Scotney will have to work hard. I don’t think it will be given to her, but I also believe she will have her hand raised at the end of the fight.
