Xander Zayas knocks out Larry Fryers in third round

Puerto Rican welterweight prospect Xander Zayas continued his early career progress with an emphatic 3rd round knockout of Ireland's Larry Fryers at the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in their 6 rounder on the Shukur Stevenson vs Jeremia Nakathila, Interim WBO Super-featherweight title card.

The 18-year-old from Sunrise, Florida by way of San Juan, Puerto Rico moved to 9-0 with 7 Ko's with this latest win and is impressing fans each time he fights.

The 30-year-old Fryers, known as 'Lethal' Larry was forced onto the back foot and only had sporadic success against his 12-year younger opponent.

The end came in the 3rd round when Fryers was backed to the ropes and Zayas strung together a series of left hooks and straight right hands that prompted referee Celestino Ruiz to jump in and save the Irishman from any further punishment.
