Shakur Stevenson wins every round in Interim WBO Title bout against Jeremiah Nakathila

Shakur Stevenson may not have won any new fans after his WBO Interim World Super-featherweight Title joust with Namibia's Jeremiah Nakathila at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, but he is now in line to challenge WBO 130lb kingpin Jamel Herring later in the year.

Stevenson managed to drop Nakathila in the 4th round but never had the previously once-beaten African in any real difficulties throughout the 12 rounds they contested.

For die-hard Stevenson supporters, the fight showed some of their fighter's defensive powers and athleticism but, he himself admitted afterward that he didn't like his own performance.

Having won by scores of 120-107 on all three judges scorecards and scoring the fights only knockdown (4th round), it seems hard to criticize Stevenson too harshly, but, it is he that has boasted of becoming the future biggest name in boxing, so he will need to perform on that highest of levels to avoid being condemned.
