In a thrilling display of skill and power, Adam Azim solidified his status as one of boxing's brightest prospects with a spectacular eighth-round knockout of Ohara Davies at London's Copper Box Arena. The 22-year-old phenom, now boasting an unblemished record of 12-0 with 10 knockouts, faced his toughest test against the experienced Davies (25-4, 18 KOs) and passed with flying colours.

The build-up to the fight was marked by mutual respect, with both fighters having shared time as amateurs at the Peacock Boxing Gym. However, camaraderie evaporated as soon as the opening bell rang. Azim immediately established dominance behind a stiff left jab, while Davies cautiously looked for counter opportunities.

Azim's blistering hand speed was displayed from the outset, forcing Davies to remain defensive to avoid the youngster's lightning-quick right hand. The third round saw Davies grow in confidence, catching Azim with his long reach and punishing him for keeping his left hand low. This success was short-lived, as Azim came out with renewed intensity in the fourth, leading to a toe-to-toe exchange that momentarily reignited their friendship, ending with smiles and a glove tap.

The fight reached a turning point in the fifth round when Azim's punches began to land with devastating effect. Despite Davies' attempts to smile through the pain, a sharp left to the body sent him to the canvas. Although Davies survived the round, Azim's demeanour had shifted, no longer interested in friendly gestures.

Azim returned to his technical boxing in the sixth, using his precise jab to further damage Davies' face. The veteran fighter showed resilience by strongly finishing the round with two left hooks. However, as the fight progressed, Davies appeared increasingly defeated, prompting a stern word from his corner after the seventh round.

The end came swiftly in the eighth round. Despite Davies coming out with renewed determination, Azim landed a lightning-quick left hook that found its mark behind Davies' guard. The 32-year-old veteran crumpled to the canvas, a look of defeat etched on his face as he remained down for referee Mark Lyson's full count. The official time of the stoppage was 1 minute and 18 seconds into the eighth round.

In a touching display of sportsmanship, Azim immediately consoled his former stablemate, honoring his pre-fight statement that they were friends before and would remain friends after the bout. This victory improved Azim's impressive record and showcased his ability to perform under pressure in front of a packed London crowd, proving he's ready for even bigger challenges in his promising career.
