Lyndon Arthur wins by ninth round stoppage of Davide Faraci

Manchester's WBO number 1 ranked light-heavyweight contender Lyndon Arthur got past the last hurdle to his rematch with Anthony Yarde by stopping Italy's Davide Faraci in the joint main event of Queensberry Promotions card from the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London.

The unbeaten Faraci (15-0, 7 Ko's) going in, did well in lasting into the 9th round with Arthur who is a couple of levels above 29-year-old from Pomezia, Italy. Arthur's accuracy made it a hard night for the visitor who came to win and put up a spirited effort.

Arthur dropped Faraci twice in the 9th round and referee Marcus McDonnell called a halt to the fight at 2:50 of the round as Faraci was taking hard shots to the head.
