Fight Report

Lennox Clarke showed Scottish hope, Willy Hutchinson, why he needs more grounding against tougher opposition before facing the best British super-middleweights. Clarke, who lost by a split decision to Lerrone Richards last time out for the same vacant British and Commonwealth Super-middleweight Titles simply bullied the more stylish Hutchinson, wearing him down until he dropped him in the 5th round with a right-left combination. Referee Bob Williams waved the fight off at 1:05 of the 5th round after the 22-year-old Scot rose on shaky legs.

The win takes Clarke's record to 20-1-1 and puts him in-line for bigger things. For Hutchinson, it's back to the drawing board and the realisation that he needs to learn to fight on the inside and perhaps some old-school rough-house tactics.
