Lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) secured a dominant second-round TKO victory over Gustavo Lemos (29-2, 19 KOs) on April 6, 2024, at Norfolk's Scope Arena, despite significant weight disparity between the two fighters.

Lemos weighed 141.4 lbs at the weigh-in and reportedly entered the ring at 155.4 lbs, well above the contracted 135 lb lightweight limit. Despite this advantage, the Argentine's aggressive approach proved ineffective against Davis's technical prowess.

In the first round, Lemos attempted to capitalize on his size advantage with looping power shots, but Davis neutralized the assault through precise jabbing to the body, lateral movement, and counter-punching from various angles.

Davis accelerated his attack in round two, scoring three knockdowns. The first came via a short right hand, followed by a left hook for the second knockdown. The final sequence combined head and body shots, ending with a right hand to the face that prompted the referee to stop the contest at 1:08 of the round.

Post-fight, Davis addressed his decision to proceed despite Lemos's weight miss and called out Gervonta Davis. While officially an eliminator for Denys Berinchyk's lightweight title, Davis clearly preferred a higher-profile matchup with his namesake.
