Katie Taylor retains titles against Natasha Jonas

Ireland's undisputed world lightweight champion Katie Taylor came through a tough test against Liverpool's Natasha Jonas to defend her titles at the Manchester Arena in a fight shown on Sky sports PPV in the UK and DAZN in other territories.

The champion looked in control of things in the early going even though Jonas caught her sporadically with hard shots that got her attention. The former Great Britain stalwart from Toxteth, a tough part of Liverpool, landed with a hard jab from her southpaw stance enough to share a couple of rounds in the first 5 rounds, but she then put her foot on the gas and began to take a foothold in the fight.

Taylor loves to be involved in a battle and she obliged her challenger by standing toe-to-toe to provide viewers with the best action of the night.

A brilliant advert for women's boxing, Taylor vs Jonas should happen again because while I made Taylor a clear winner, the action, the ebb and flow, and the commitment from both was exemplary In my opinion.
