John Riel Casimero wins split decision against Guillermo Rigondeaux

John Riel Casimero defended his WBO world bantamweight championship with a razor-tight split decision victory against 40-year-old defensive master Guillermo Rigondeaux at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

This is a career-best result for Casimero but that should be taken with a pinch of salt because who deserved the victory the most is very much open to interpretation.

Scores: Tim Cheatham 113-115 | Robert Hoyle 117-111 | Daniel Sandoval 116-112.
