Hard-hitting, 20-year-old welterweight contender Jesus Alejandro Ramos got the rounds he so desperately needed when he was taken the 10 round distance for the first time by seasoned veteran Javier Molina on the Andy Ruiz Jr vs Chris Arreola undercard at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
Molina, a 31-year-old from nearby Norwalk had previously lost to Jamal James and Jose Pedraza, both times on points and was expected to ask a few questions of the young southpaw prospect. Indeed, Molina landed some good clean shots on Ramos but he lacked the power to hurt him. Ramos landed a much higher percentage of punches and ran away a big winner on the cards.
Scores: Max DeLuca 97-92 | Lou Moret 99-90 | Zachary Young 99-90.
