Hamzah Sheeraz takes out Ezequiel Gurria in fifth round

Hamzah Sheeraz, the 22-year-old from Ilford is fast becoming one to watch not only from a UK standpoint but from a world perspective as well. The composure and self-assurance he showed in the 5 rounds he shared with Spain's Ezequiel Gurria was impressive, to say the least.

The left hook to the ribs, thrown as a prelude to the short left uppercut that dropped Gurria for the first of two 5th round knockdowns was superb. His fighting style is difficult for opponents to deal with because he gives up his advantages in height and reach much like his American counterpart Sebastian Fundora but possesses what looks like a superior defence to that of Fundora's.

Keep an eye on Sheeraz, he may be a big star of British and world boxing in the near future.
