Fabio Wardley destroys Nick Webb in first round

Fabio Wardley made the first defence of his English heavyweight title with an explosive 1st round knockout of Chertsey's Nick Webb on the second edition of Matchroom Fight Camp 2021 headlined by Kid Galahad vs James Dickens with the IBF world featherweight title at stake.

Webb took the fight to Wardley from the 1st bell and had some success with the right hand but as soon as Wardley rode out the storm and returned fire the writing was on the wall and at 2:30 of the round, referee Kieran McCann called a halt to matters as Webb crashed to the canvas.

Wardley moved to 12-0 with 11 Ko's but still needs to make improvements before tackling the likes of Joe Joyce, Dereck Chisora, Hughie Fury, or Daniel Dubois. Nathan Gorman would be an interesting pairing.
