Emanuel Navarrete beats Liam Wilson in up and Down Vacant Title Shootout

Emanuel Navarrete defeated Liam Wilson in the ninth round to win the vacant WBO World Super-featherweight Title at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Navarrete, who hails from Mexico, became a three-division titlist, just the tenth fighter from Mexico to accomplish the feat.

In the fourth round, Wilson knocked Navarrete down for the first time in his career, but Navarrete was able to rally back and eventually stop Wilson in the ninth round.

Navarrete attributed his victory to his strength, power, heart, and "Mexican spirit." Wilson expressed his desire to return to the ring and fight another champion. The fight was a back-and-forth battle, with both fighters landing big shots and trading knockdowns. In the end, it was Navarrete's right hand that sealed the victory.
