Amanda Serrano added the vacant IBF World Female Featherweight Title to her WBC and WBO versions with a virtuoso performance in front of her home crowd against four-division titlist Daniela Romina Bermudez of Argentina.
Serrano always looked in control even if Bermudez's right-hands found their target throughout the fight and kept things interesting. In the ninth round, Serrano found the punches to end matters when she landed with a left and right hook combination that left the Argentine down for the count at 1:33 of the round.
Serrano is a seven-division titlist but needs to fight Katie Taylor to cement her legacy as a great in the world of female boxing, and seeing as she has already won world titles at lightweight and super-lightweight, the weight shouldn't be an issue, even though we know that after two stints as featherweight champion, this is her natural weight division.
Boxing throws up fights that the fans know should happen and Taylor vs Serrano is one of those fights.
