On Saturday, 24th May 2008, Ricky Hatton faced Juan Lazcano at the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester, England. The bout, promoted by Maloney Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, was for the IBO World Super-lightweight Title, marking Hatton's second defense of the title. The referee for the match was Howard Foster.
