Osleys Iglesias vs Pavel Silyagin
IBF & IBO World Super Middleweight Titles · Montreal Casino, Quebec, Canada

Pavel Silyagin
16-0-1
Russia
Why the House picks Osleys Iglesias
This is another fight that, on paper, would appear to be an even-money match, but when you start getting into the nitty-gritty of statistics, the overriding number that stands out is the near 93% knockout ratio of ex-Cuban amateur star Iglesias. When you compare it to Silyagin’s 44%, you suddenly realise that even taking the fight to the final bell could be a major problem for the Russian. Their only shared opponent was Evgeny Shvedenko, and the respective results were: Silyagin went to a split-decision draw, whilst Inglesias knocked the Russian out in the very first round. That last statistic doesn't always tell the real tale, and we have to respect Silyagin’s ability to outbox high-level foes due to his decorated amateur background. I've been watching boxing for over 40 years, and in my opinion, power goes a long way in professional boxing. If we accept that both are skilful practitioners, but one has a knockout percentage twice that of the other, I think it is a sensible move to back the more powerful fighter. In this case, that will be Iglesias.
