Jason Moloney vs Andres Teran
10 Round Bantamweight Bout · The Venue Riyadh Season, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia · Sky Sports
Why the House picks Jason Moloney
I fancy Moloney here, but he needs to earn it with his boxing. Teran’s stoppage record gives him reason to respect what’s coming back, and getting drawn into a prolonged exchange would make this harder than it needs to be.
Moloney’s advantage is his experience of managing distance against good opposition. I want to see the jab setting up his body work, short combinations and a step away before Teran can answer. He can work close, but he must avoid finishing an attack square in front of his man. That’s where a puncher gets his opportunity.
For Teran, the job is to make Moloney work when he wants a breather. I’d have him jab at the chest, close the exits and attack downstairs rather than chase the head. His knockout record alone doesn’t tell us whether he can sustain that against someone this experienced.
My pick is Moloney by decision. I expect his tighter punch selection and ability to vary the pace to settle it, provided he keeps his discipline when Teran presses.
