Callum Walsh vs Tyler Denny

This is a tough examination for Callum Walsh, not another opponent brought in to make up the numbers. Tyler Denny is awkward, experienced and knows how to make talented fighters look ordinary. Walsh is the younger, taller southpaw with quicker hands, heavier punches and the fresher engine.

Walsh must stay disciplined, jab Denny’s chest and step away after his combinations. He cannot follow him around or start loading up because the crowd gets excited. Denny’s route is to smother the youngster, rough him up inside and turn it into an ugly straightener. He will test Walsh’s patience and look to catch him standing square.

Denny will nick rounds through craft, but Walsh has too much speed, youth and spite in his work. I expect him to pull clear during the second half and win a competitive but convincing unanimous decision over ten rounds.
