Liverpool's Sam Maxwell came away as British and Commonwealth super-lightweight champion after a scrappy 12 rounds against defending champion Akeem Ennis Brown on Queensberry Promotions show at Arena Birmingham, shown live on BT Sports.
All three judges saw it for Maxwell but the majority view was that Ennis-Brown deserved to retain his titles. Both picked up eye damage due to head clashes and the fight never really caught fire.
