Natasha Jonas Unifies Titles in Liverpool Victory

Natasha Jonas unified the IBF and WBC welterweight titles with a unanimous decision victory over Ivana Habazin at Liverpool's Exhibition Centre. The judges scored the bout 99-92, 99-91, and 100-90 in favour of Jonas.

Jonas pressed the action from the opening bell, utilizing effective body shots to back Habazin onto the ropes. Habazin succeeded in the second round, landing punches over Jonas's guard. However, Jonas regained control in the third, connecting with a right to the body and a right to the head, eliciting cheers from the hometown crowd.

In the fourth round, Jonas hurt Habazin with a right hand, causing her to stumble backwards. Jonas capitalized by delivering hooks to the head and body, though Habazin managed to recover. The middle rounds saw Habazin increase her activity, but Jonas's counters were more precise and impactful.

The tenth and final round featured both fighters exchanging hard shots at the centre ring, with Jonas landing two significant right hands that appeared to shake Habazin. The final bell confirmed Jonas's dominance, as reflected in the wide margin on the scorecards.

This victory sets up a potential unification bout with WBA champion Lauren Price in 2025. Post-fight, Jonas expressed gratitude to her supporters and hinted at the upcoming challenge, stating, "I will do everything to get to where I want to go; the story isn't over yet."
