Janibek Alimkhanuly Stops Anauel Ngamissengue in Fifth Round

In a commanding display at Barys Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan, Janibek Alimkhanuly successfully defended his IBF and WBO middleweight titles by defeating Anauel Ngamissengue via technical knockout in the fifth round.  This victory extended Alimkhanuly's unbeaten record to 17-0, with 12 wins by knockout.

From the outset, Alimkhanuly asserted his dominance, utilizing superior footwork and speed to control the bout's tempo.  In the first round's closing moments, he delivered a left hand that sent Ngamissengue to the canvas; initially deemed a slip, the referee later acknowledged it as a knockdown.

As the fight progressed, Alimkhanuly's precision became increasingly evident.  In the fifth round, he unleashed a counter left that staggered Ngamissengue, followed by another left that resulted in a decisive knockdown.  Although Ngamissengue rose before the count concluded, his corner intervened, prompting the referee to stop the contest at 2:59 of the round.

This outcome marked Ngamissengue's first professional defeat, adjusting his record to 14-1, with 9 knockouts.  Alimkhanuly's performance reinforced his status as a formidable force in the middleweight division and positioned him for potential unification bouts, as he expressed interest in facing fellow champions to consolidate the division's titles.
