Jaime Munguia stops Kamil Szeremeta in six round

Former WBO world super-welterweight champion Jaime Munguia continued his march to a middleweight title shot at the expense of late replacement opponent Kamil Szeremeta who was pulled out before the 7th round could start. The bout was the headline attraction on Golden Boy Promotions show from the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas and shown live on DAZN.

Szeremeta proved for the second time up against a top-line opponent that he always comes to win. His last outing saw him challenge Gennady Golovkin for the IBF & IBO middleweight titles in December 2020, losing by 7th round retirement.

Munguia must be close to a shot at the title, the obvious choice being Golovkin as both work closely with DAZN.
