Frank Martin stops Jerry Perez in the seventh round

Indianapolis lightweight Frank Martin remains unbeaten after his headline 10 rounder against another unbeaten contender in Jerry Perez on Premier Boxing Champions card from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old Martin didn't have things all his own way in the early rounds as Perez produced some good work that kept things interesting, but, southpaw Martin started to come on from the 4th round and although Perez was still landing his fair share of scoring punches Martin had opened a gap on the scorecards.

Near the end of the 7th round, Martin landed a left hook that dropped the 28-year-old Perez from Oak Hills, California on his back. Perez just beat the count of referee Jerry Cantu and was thrown to the canvas when the action resumed. Again, Perez rose but this time Martin attacked with hard shots until Cantu stopped the action to give Martin the victory at 2:59 of the round.
