Danielito Zorrilla v Ruslan Madiyev ends in eighth round technical decision win for Zorrilla

In an unsatisfactory ending, Puerto Rico's Danielito Zorrilla won by eighth-round technical decision in his Super-lightweight 10 round bout against Californian based Kazakhstan native Ruslan Madiyev on the undercard of the Super-welterweight clash between Serhii Bohachuk and Brandon Adams staged at the Municipal Boxing Gym Felix Pagan Pintor in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Madiyev made the fight a phone booth affair due to the 3-inch height advantage he gave to Zorilla, but the local man was able to land counter punches on the inside to keep this a closely contested fight.

In the fifth round referee, Janny Guzman took a point away from Madiyev for blows that landed on the back of Zorilla's head. The point deduction didn't stop Madiyev from attacking relentlessly until he landed a blatant heavy shot to the back of Zorilla's head in the 8th round. The 27-year-old Puerto Rican couldn't continue so it went to the scorecards with two of the ringside judges making Zorilla the winner.
