Chantelle Cameron batters Melissa Hernandez to fifth round defeat

WBC World Female Super-lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron made the first defence of her title at Mandalay Bay’s Michelob Ultra Arena on the same show as Devin Haney's points win over former three-weight world champion Jorge Linares. The Matchroom Boxing show was shown on DAZN.

Cameron was up against an opponent that she held all the advantages over. Hernandez held the WBC's World Female Featherweight title back in 2012-2013 and is 41-years-old compared to 30-year-old Cameron. However, Hernandez had a lot more experience and was tough but ultimately, Cameron was too big, strong and young.

Referee Celestino Ruiz stopped the fight at 1:38 of the 5th round.
