"Prince" Charles Williams was born in Columbus, Mississippi, but lived and fought out of Mansfield, Ohio.
He was 6ft 2 inches tall.
On the 29th of October 1987, Williams won the IBF world light heavyweight title by way of a 9th-round retirement of titleholder Bobby Czyz.
He made eight successful defences before losing a unanimous decision in Germany to Henry Maske on the 20th March 1993.
